Editorial Review
Fizik's blinker. Sexy enough for your Italian road bike?
It used to be that safety flashers were a necessity, but not desirable. Leave it to the Italians, though, to elevate the lowly flasher to high art. On it's own, Fizik's Blink ($20) looks like a part that fell off some weird Japanese toy. However, in place, the Blink looks, dare we say - good? Attractive? Almost... sexy? This rear flasher owes a large part of its appeal to Fizik's Integrated Clip System, or ICS. It's a little accessory slot designed into the base of their saddles. It's allows little gizmos like seat bags, blinkers, or cigarette cases to snap securely and cleanly into place. The Blink itself weighs just 18 grams, has nearly 180 degrees of visibility and consists of two LED lights, and has two modes - constant and blinking. Fizik even managed to elegantly style the switch - just press on the lens. It's not the brightest or most powerful blinker on the market, but it's certainly visible enough to allow you to stay out on your sweet Pinarello just a bit later... without any embarrassment. Reader Reviews
Average Reader Review: Review By hktr, Rides to Race:Works out just fine. If you use it as intended-for just a LITTLE late. Bright enough, I even have used it attached to a saddle without the ICS, but be realistic, don't expect much visibility out for a ride on a city street full of lights! As for the quality of the plastic, well.. mine broke when tried to insert to an "ICS compatible" saddle- MY fault, but not good. (Report Abuse) Review By Ivan Morales, Rides for Fitness:Thought FIZIK would have some quality control ! I was wrong. One ride and the lens fell out ! making it useless. (Report Abuse) Review By Tom T, Rides for Fitness:Poor quality light that was broken right out of the box. I was not interested in another because it felt so flimsy. Expensive compared to other taillights. (Report Abuse)
