Editorial Review

Chromag has earned a cult-like following by making stylish, hard-working components that can withstand the punishing trails in British Columbia—from the North Shore to Whistler and beyond. The company's burly bars, stems, saddles and seat posts are ideal for riders who value strength over weight.

The Moon saddle, however, shows Chromag hasn't forgotten about riders who demand lighter gear. The 245-gram perch uses titanium rails and has a long, flat profile. The nose is slimmer than most Chromag's offerings, but still relatively wide compared to other XC saddles, making it more comfortable when scooting forward on steep climbs or cornering. While flat on top, the saddle contours around the edges and back, which reduces the chances that it will snag on baggy shorts.

From quick XC rides to longer adventures across aggressive terrain, the Moon felt great. It fit well and provided a nice comfortable platform while pedaling. Better yet, the relatively wide nose offered plenty of control—especially while leaning into tight downhill corners. The Moon is an excellent for aggressive trail riders.—Lou Mazzante
